Fashion Icons of the 1970s

My two absolute favorite fashion icons of the 1970s are actresses Hema Malini and Zeenat Aman. The two women differed greatly in style: Zeenat strived to stand out from the crowd with her modern westernized dresses and skirts, and Hema graced every place she went with her elegant and classy saris and shalwar kameezes.

I honestly don't believe anybody can even attempt to match the trend these ladies set, especially because of the time period in which they branded themselves as India's fashion icons. In fact, this year student designers from the Inter National Institute of Fashion Design (INIFD) declared Hema Malini, who has now entered politics, the ‘Political Style Icon of India.’
