I was watching Love Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega (translated to He Will Do Anything for Love) from 2001, and realized how much I missed Sonali Bendre, who gets kidnapped in the movie on account of her husband (Saif Ali Khan) needing the ransom money Sonali's father is forced to pay. Sonali was charismatic, beautiful, and graceful. I remember how stunning she was as a village girl in Jis Desh Mein Ganga Rehta Hai (co-starring Govinda), and although she may have been known for her beauty in westernized outfits, she will always be considered most beautiful in desi attire.

Style Icon: Raveena Tandon
90s Queen Raveena Tandon took the Bollywood film industry by storm. She was considered to be one of the most beautiful and stylish actresses at the time.
I grew up watching her films, and some of the more memorable ones include Andaz Apna Apna (co-starring Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, & Karisma Kapoor--her rival at the time), Patthar Ke Phool (co-starring Salman Khan), Dilwale (co-starring Ajay Devgan), and Mohra (co-starring her ex-boyfriend Akshay Kumar).
Raveena was fortunate to be a star at a time when the actresses had what we consider now to be "natural" beauty. She didn't have make-up caked on, didn't need to do a bikini scene to get attention (unlike the stars of today--Aishwarya, Kareena, & Katrina), and acted well, considering the films from the 90s were male-driven.

Style Icon: Sonam Kapoor
I have rarely posted about Sonam Kapoor, who happens to be one of the most stylish and unique-looking actress/model in the Bollywood industry. Daughter of 90's icon, Anil Kapoor, Sonam paved her way into the industry 3 years ago and stood out from the rest due to her ability to look timelessly classic and then pull off edgy and couture.
Sonam is one of my favorite fashionistas in the film industry, and she deserves to be acknowledged. While actor Imran Khan was quoted saying that Sonam should do "less magazine covers and more movies" on Season 3 of Koffee with Karan, Sonam has proven that she is able to do both brilliantly.

Ode to Deepika Padukone
Deepika Padukone is my current favorite Bollywood glam doll. The model-turned-actress quickly became a sensation after her box office hit 'Om Shanti Om' (co-starring Bollywood King Shahrukh Khan), and it's easy to see why. She's a mixture of charm and high fashion. She can pull off modern and traditional attire, and I've grown to love her unique style and elegant persona.

Style Icon: Kareena Kapoor:
I found some magazine shots of Kareena Kapoor that I just had to post (my top three favorites are the first three shown below). She's one of my favorite fashionistas in Bollywood. More pix to come soon.
